Starting with TIBCO Spotfire server 10.2.0 version, downloading third party JCIFS component is not needed for NTLM authentication.

Issue/Introduction

This article will explain why JCIFS is not needed in Spotfire server starting with 10.2.0 version

Resolution

There is no longer a dependency on JCIFS and therefore it has been removed from the installer and all the traces of it in documentation. The internal Spotfire library files have been updated in such a way that it got rid of JCIFS dependency.

For more information refer Release Notes document for TSS 10.2 .

Note : All previous versions to 10.2 are still required to use JCIFS components when configuring NTLM authentication on Spotfire server , as per steps  mentioned here.
