Description

A third-party Load Balancer can be setup to forward each client request to the next available node in an Active TIBCO Data Virtualization Clustered environment. But is it necessary to setup a Load Balancer to enable Clustering in TDV?

Issue/Introduction

Is a Load Balancer necessary to enable clustering in TIBCO Data Virtualization?

Resolution

An Active TDV Cluster does not require a Load Balancer and has no programmatic awareness of the LB. All configuration with a LB are performed outside of the Active Cluster. Without a LB all TDV Servers in a clustered environment act as peers with caching, statistics, and triggers executing in a round-robin sequence
