Issue/Introduction
Is it possible to customize the licenses/permissions for an inbuilt Spotfire user group?
Environment
All supported environments
Resolution
If some of the licenses assigned to an inbuilt user group are added or removed, the user group permissions/licenses will still be the same as it was by default. Even though the modified licenses will be seen as enabled/disabled, the user group will use the default licenses assigned to that group.
For example: 1) If all the licenses are disabled in the "Administrator" group, the users of this group will still have administrator privileges as this is an inbuilt group within Spotfire and will always retain the default permissions that was given to this group. 2) If "Scheduling and Routing Administrator" group is given all the licences, including Administrator license, the users of this group will still not have administrator permissions. They will only have "Scheduling and Routing" access added as an extra permission.
Note: If there is a need for customized licenses for a user/group of users, a new group must me created and assigned the required licenses.
