The TDV Cache Manager allows administrators to define multiple tables as cache targets. This article explains if TDV can ensure high availability on one of those cache target tables.
No, TDV cache target tables cannot ensure high availability.
Note: The purpose of cache target tables is to ensure that, there is a table available for the cache refresh operations. Non-active buckets/tables cannot reliably be used for high availability or as backups for the current active bucket. Every refresh operation will load the data into a new bucket/table.Cache configuration determines how the data from a previous refresh(bucket) expires and potentially gets removed from the cache. Expired cache versions(buckets) are not deleted until all transaction-holds using that version are completed or rolled back. TDV administrators cannot rely on two cache versions of data at any given point of time. TDV does provide a mechanism for incremental caching where TDV administrators have full programmatic control of loading the cache tables using SQL scripts.
