Description
Scheduled tasksets start failing in Monitoring and Alerting System (MAS) with an error message in the MAS logs : Monitor 'xxxx' in Taskset 'xxx' was skipped because MAS failed to initialize an instance of the running object server. Error code: 0x80070057 [Invalid user name or password.]
Possible causes:
a. The login credentials of COM+ component for MAS service are incorrect which might be due to a recent password change or password expiration of the account that MAS is configured to run as.
b. A recent Microsoft update that reset the COM+ component's identity.
