Spotfire tries to find a symbolic representation of the selection made when marking data. If we mark an item in an aggregated visualization (example: Bar chart visualization), the marking will be based on the selected categories, rather than on saved indexes of the underlying rows.
However, symbolic representation is not possible to use with some visualizations (example: Table Visualization). Hence the markings are lost upon reload. In order for Table Visualization to retain marking upon reload we need to specify key columns. In order to specify the key column for the data table, follow the below steps.
1)On the menu bar, select Data > Data table properties and click to select the data table of interest.
2)On the General tab, click Edit, next to the Key columns for linked data field.
3)In "Select Key Columns" window, select a column which can uniquely identify records in a table from the Available columns list and click Add > to move it to the Selected columns list.
4)Click "Ok" button and then click "Apply".
