The default Marketo admin user does not have access to the Marketo REST API.  This lack of access causes an error when using the TIBCO Scribe® Connector For Marketo.

 To define a role in Marketo that can access the REST API:

1. In Marketo, in the Admin area, click Users & Roles.
2. Click the Roles tab.
3. Select the role you want to edit and click Edit Role.
4. In the Permissions list, open the Access Admin node and enable the following:

• Access SOAP API
• Access Webhook

5. Select the Access API node and enable the following:

• Approve assets
• Execute campaign
• Read-Write Activity
• Read-Write Assets
• Read-Write Campaign
• Read-Write Company
• Read-Write Custom Object
• Read-Write Lead
• Read-Write Opportunity
• Read-Write Sales Person

6. Click Save.
