This issue can be caused by many old *.SBDF files present in the \data\artifacts\spotfire folder on TSSS installation which take a significant amount of disk space.
- <TSSS-Install directory>\data\artifacts\spotfire
The artifacts folder stores the intermediate SBDF files that are needed for the Spotfire and Statistics Services interaction when a Data Function is run in Spotfire. These files are normally automatically cleaned up when a job has completed its execution., but there may be special circumstances like a job crash which will prevent that cleanup, keeping such files permanently and causing disk space to increase and performance to downgrade over the time.
1). On Spotfire 7.6 or earlier versions:
It is safe to delete left over files from the \data\artifacts\spotfire folder from TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services installation directory.
Follow the steps below.
- Stop the TSSS service.
- Take backup of \data\artifacts folder from <TSSS-Install directory> .
- Delete all files from \data\artifacts\spotfire .
- Start the TSSS service.
2). Use client version TIBCO Spotfire 7.7 or higherThe clean up process has been improved in the installed client and Web Player version 7.7 and higher which prevents this issue from occurring.
