Error: Persistent client SocketTimeoutException using corrupt Java JDK

Issue/Introduction

Persistent client SocketTimeoutException using corrupt Java JDK

Resolution

A corrupt Java installation can cause StreamBase clients to fail to connect to the server and immediately return the error message:

WARNING: Unable to reconnect to streambase. Will retry. Exception is sb://server/: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Configured server quiescent time of 120,000 MS exceeded

The error is returned immediately instead of after the expected timeout, potentially resulting in a fast series of connection attempts. The exception is therefore misleading.

This problem may be corrected by uninstalling the Java JDK and re-installing.
