Description

When upgrading or installing TIBCO Scribe® Insight the below Windows Installer popup error can occur when first clicking on the Setup.exe within the installation media that was downloaded from the TIBCO eDelivery site.

Issue/Introduction

When upgrading or installing TIBCO Scribe® Insight a Windows Installer error can occur when selecting the Setup.exe

Resolution

In majority of cases the reason that this Windows Installer popup error occurred is because the installation media folder is not on the root of the drive that you are trying to install TIBCO Scribe® Insight on.

For example: In the latest release of TIBCO
Scribe® Insight the folder that contains the installation media is "TIB_scr-insight_7.9.5_win_x86_64". In Scenario 1, the installation media folder is not on the root of the C drive but instead in an extra directory folder and may cause the Windows Installer error when trying to run the Setup.exe. In Scenario 2, the installation media is on the root of the C drive and will resolve the Windows Installer popup error.
