Description
You are using the Microsoft SQL Server Connector to execute a Replication Solution where Microsoft SQL Server is the target datastore and you receive a record error on the Goal entity that states "Failed to insert record on first attempt."
Issue/Introduction
This article contains a script to correct metadata errors in the goal entity along with instructions on running the script.
Resolution
Execute the included database script on your SQL Replication database. Prior to running the script make sure to use the SQL Take Offline feature and verify that you are not in the middle of a Replication session. After you have updated your SQL Replication database you can use the SQL Bring Online feature and restart your Replication.
To access the Take Offline and Bring Online features, right-click the database in SQL and select Tasks.

- Download the attached TXT file.
- In Microsoft SQL select the database with the error.
- Copy everything in the attached TXT file into into a Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio - Query Window.
- Click Execute.
