After registering the data function in Spotfire Analyst/Client, Inside the action control dialog box, you can select the “Data function” option to insert a link or button that refreshes a previously executed data function when clicked. If you are not seeing a list of available data functions, then follow the resolution section.

If you are not seeing a list of available data functions then it is because those functions are marked to be “refreshed automatically”. In the available data function list, only those data functions are listed that have been executed within the current analysis and that do not use the “Refresh function automatically” feature. 

So to uncheck the “refreshed automatically" option, below are the steps:

1) Make sure that the data function is executed within the current analysis.
2) Go to Data Menu >> Data function properties >> Edit parameters. Uncheck the “Refresh function automatically” option.
3) Now go to the action control dialog box. The data function should now be listed in the available data functions section.



NOTE: For Spotfire Analyst 7.14 and below, use Edit Menu >> Data Function Properties option.

Registered data function is not visible inside the available data functions window
