Is the user allowed to register the Professional version of Statistica on more than one computer?  If so, why do I get an error when I try to register Statistica on a second computer?

 

This article discusses problems that may arise when registering Statistica on multiple computers (Statistica Professional version only). This only applies to commercial versions and not Academic versions or purchases from www.onthehub.com.

The professional version of Statistica is for a single user to install and register.  That user can also register Statistica on a second computer (e.g., a home machine and a work computer).  To register successfully on the second computer, the user is required to use the same email he/she used for the registration on the first computer; this is how the registration server identifies the user.  If a different email is used for the second registration, then a message appears that states that the user has exceeded the number of installs allowed; this is because the registration server identifies a different or second user trying to register, which is not allowed for the professional version and is in violation of the license agreement.  This version of Statistica is for one user, and one user only, and can only have valid registrations on up to two computers.
