Reinstall A Scribe Online Agent

Description

The TIBCO Scribe® Online On-Premise Agent updates automatically when a new Agent is released.  Under certain circumstances you may need to manually reinstall the Agent, such as if there is a problem with the Agent database, you are working in a sandbox deploy of TIBCO Scribe® Online, or you are a TIBCO Scribe® Software employee working with a test Agent. The process is as follows:
  • Download and install the latest Agent software
  • Edit Solutions to use the new Agent
  • Delete the old Agent from TIBCO Scribe® Online
  • Uninstall the current TIBCO Scribe® Online Agent


Download And Install A New TIBCO Scribe® Online Agent
 

  1. In TIBCO Scribe® Online, navigate to the Agents Dashboard Widget.

  1. Select the Add button (+) and choose Install On-Premise Agent. This starts the download process.
  2. Select Copy to place the Agent Key on the clipboard.
  3. Locate the ScribeInstaller.exe file in your default downloads directory and double-click it to launch the Install Wizard.
  4. Step through the Install Wizard.
  5. Paste in the Agent Key generated on the New Agent dialog.
  6. The new Agent displays in the Agents Dashboard Widget.


Edit Solutions To Use New Agent
 

Modify each Solution on the Solutions page to reference the new Agent.

Delete The Old Agent From TIBCO Scribe® Online


Go to the Agents Dashboard Widget, select the old Agent and choose the Delete option from the Gear menu. If any Solutions reference this Agent, you cannot delete the Agent.

Uninstall The Current TIBCO Scribe® Online Agent
 

  1. In the Microsoft Windows Services window stop the Scribe Online Agent service.
  2. Use the Microsoft Windows Control Panel > Program & Features to uninstall the Agent.
  3. In Windows Explorer, locate and delete the ..\Scribe Software\Scribe Online Agent directory in Program Files or Program Files (x86).
