Description
Issue: I upgraded Dynamics GP and I am now receiving the following error when I run a DTS that ran successfully prior to the upgrade: Error Code 1517, SQL call failed. Restricted data type attribute violation
Issue/Introduction
Error in DTS after upgrading Dynamics GP: Error Code 1517, SQL call failed. Restricted data type attribute violation
Resolution
To resolve this error message, update the metadata (KSYNC) tables by running the GP Metadata SQL scripts for each GP company. Be sure to select the correct directory for your version of Dynamics GP.

To update the metadata for Microsoft Dynamics GP
- Open Microsoft SQL Server Query Analyzer and connect as administrator to the Dynamics GP company database.
- Open the folder that contains the metadata scripts for your version of Dynamics GP. For Dynamics GP Version 2015 and 2016, open C: \Program Files\Scribe\Dynamics GP 2015.
- Run the metadata scripts to add the necessary Scribe metadata tables to the Dynamics GP database.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each Dynamics GP company database that you are using.
