Description

While installing TIBCO Scribe® Insight, you see a message that a "previous program installation was not completed" and you are unable to install TIBCO Scribe® Insight.

If a message displays that a reboot is required even after you have just rebooted, then you have some orphaned registry keys left over from a previous install or installs.

The existence of any of the following registry keys will cause this behavior:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress

The orphaned values in these registry keys will need to be resolved prior to installing TIBCO Scribe® Insight.  Once these pending operations have been resolved, restart the TIBCO Scribe® Insight setup.

If working on a 64-bit machine, you may find the settings in the following registry keys instead of those listed above:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress
