Description

Product: Scribe Online

Issue/Question: Does Scribe Online Validate all the connections in a multi-map solution even when you are trying to run just one map?

Scenario/Example: Say you have one solution ' Analytics' with two or more maps having different connections but want to manually run a particular map e.g  'Map A'.

In this case, there were two connections in both maps (Netsuite and CRM). The Netsuite connection tested successfully whereas the credentials for the CRM connection had expired.

Viewing the error details show there was an issue with the CRM Connection:

Issue/Introduction

Scribe online validates all the connections in map(s) before running a single map in a solution.

Resolution

Resolution: The answer is Yes, during the validation process  Scribe will test all the connections within the solution before running 'Map A'. If there are any connections with expired credentials or problems with the connection in general, the run will fail with the error above:

Best Practices:
  1. Ensure all the connections in a solution have active connections that test successfully
  2. Disable the map with the connection failure
  3. If you really need to run only one map or a few, select the maps > Export > Create a new solution and import. Be sure to make note of the net change date/timestamp if they are being used and update it in the new solution.
