Description
The applications sta_flxm.exe and lmgrd.exe must be able to pass through the firewall on the server. These applications communicate on ports 26998 and 26999, therefore those ports must be open for communication.
Beginning with Statistica version 11, the Statistica installation program should automatically configure the necessary Windows firewall exceptions. But some customer networks may have security settings, or other firewall software (e.g. McAfee) that requires these firewall exceptions to be done manually.

Environment
Windows operating systems only.
Resolution
To enable the Statistica License Service to accept connections through the Windows firewall on the Windows Server 2008:
1. Open the Control Panel and choose System and Security.
2. Click on Windows Firewall and choose the 'Allow a program or feature through the Windows Firewall' option on the left.
3. Click the 'Change settings' button at the top of the window.
4. Then click the 'Allow another program' button at the bottom of the window. The "Add a Program" dialog is presented. Click the 'Browse' button.
5. Navigate to the location where the STATISTICA License Service is installed. This is typically C:\Program Files (x86)\StatSoft\FLEXlm. Select the program named "sta_flxm" and click 'Open'.
6. After the system returns to the "Add a Program" dialog, click the 'Add' button.
7. Repeat steps 2-4 to add the program "lmgrd" from the same folder path.
8. There should now be entries in the Allowed Programs window for "Acresso Software Inc" and "STATISTICA License Manager daemon":
