This article demonstrates how to perform and interpret Shapiro-Wilk W test in Statistica for normality check of continuous variables.

Resolution

1. In Statistica, go to menu "Statistics" | "Basic Statistics"

2. In Basic Statistics dialog, select "Descriptive Statistics" and click OK.

3. In Descriptive Statistics dialog, click on "Variables" to choose the continuous variable to analyze. Then find and click on "Normality" tab

4. Under the "Normality" tab, tick the option "Shapiro-Wilk W test". You can find the Shapiro-Wilk W test result by clicking on "Frequency Tables" or "Histograms".

6. To learn more information of Shapiro-Wilk W test, select the "Normality" tab, click on the question mark on top right corner of the Descriptive Statistics dialog to direct to Statistica e-manual help page.
