Description

The Bar Chart visualization has a property named "Sort Bars By Value", but when the Bar Chart has multiple Y-axis columns, this property will sort based on the sum of those columns. It does not have an option for selecting one specific Y-axis column to use in sorting the bars.

Resolution

If you have multiple Y-axis columns and you want to sort the bars based on one of the columns, the workaround is to convert the Bar Chart into a Combination Chart, then use the Combination Chart's "Sort x-axis by" option.

To use this option, right-click on the Combination Chart, select "Properties" from the context sensitive menu, and select "Appearance" in the Combination Chart's "Properties" dialog. In the "Sort x-axis by" section of the dialog's "Appearance" pane, choose the Y-axis column you want to use for sorting the bars.
