Description

The TIBCO Spotfire Analyst portable client is a stand-alone instance of TIBCO Spotfire Analyst installed client which does not need to be installed. When you try to launch the portable client, it may fail with the following error message:
Error message: The installation failed due to an unknown problem.

Issue/Introduction

The TIBCO Spotfire Analyst Portable Client may fail to run with error "The installation failed due to an unknown problem."

Resolution

To resolve:
  1. Close all running instances of the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst clients  
  2. Delete all files and folders under "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\TIBCO\Spotfire\".
  3. Re-open the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst portable client.
