Resolution
The reason why the Spotfire server and client are not showing the identical version numbers is because starting with Spotfire Server version 10.3 there are only Service packs delivered for Spotfire Server, for Spotfire clients hotfixes are still delivered .
For the version number, the 3rd number represents service packs. For example:
Spotfire client 10.3.3 HF-015
Spotfire Server 10.3.7
The 3rd number shows that the client is on Service pack 3, while the Server is on Service pack 5. In addition to this, you will also see the hotfix version installed on clients. In this example, the Spotfire client is on hotfix 12. The Server is not showing any hotfix number, because there are no hotfixes delivered for it.
"NOTE: Starting with releases from May 2018, the process for upgrading to Service Packs (such as 10.3.0 to 10.3.1) is the same as upgrading to new versions (such as 10.3.0 to 10.4.0) - for upgrade instructions, please refer to the section “Upgrading from Spotfire 7.5 or later” in the TIBCO Spotfire Server manual. After upgrading to the latest Service Pack, you only need to apply any hotfixes available for that Service Pack version."
Spotfire Server and Spotfire clients are not having the same version and hotfix numbers even though the latest available versions are installed. This is because, starting from Spotfire 10.3, there are only Service packs delivered for Spotfire Server, while there are still hotfixes delivered for the clients.
