Description

When viewing an analysis file on a Windows tablet the user may want to utilize touch screen capabilities to issue commands like marking, filtering, or changing document property values.  Spotfire will not respond to these touch commands.

Issue/Introduction

User is not able to use touch screen commands when viewing TIBCO Spotfire files on a Windows tablet

Environment

Resolution

Spotfire currently lacks the ability to mix mouse and touch input. When touch capabilities are enabled on the Windows tablet (see manufacture instructions for details), the mouse input is disabled in several places.  Touch capabilities are available in iOS and Android devices because they do not utilize mouse inputs.

To restore the use of mouse inputs once in touch mode, touch the Spotfire application and then use the "scroll" on the mouse (i.e. drag two fingers on a touchpad, use scroll wheel, etc.) and you will then be prompted to switch to mouse input again.
