Description

STATNOVAPDF is installed but printing any PDF from Statistica or WebStatistica is not possible on a Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2012 (and R2) computer.

Cause:

CAUSE 1

Path to framedyn.dll is incorrect.

CAUSE 2

Microsoft Update. 


Important Note:    This issue has been fixed in Statistica 13.3.1 by updating the version of Nova PDF from 7.7 to version 8.  

Issue/Introduction

Statistica StatNovaPDF installed but does not appear in Devices and Printers on Windows 7 (Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2012) computers. Typical cause is Windows Update KB3170455. However, there may be other causes as there have been some cases where KB3170455 is not installed but the StatNovaPDF driver still does not appear. Fixed in Statistica 13.3.1 by using a new Statistica PDF install (v8.9.050).

Environment

Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012. May affect other MS operating systems.

Resolution

CAUSE 1 RESOLUTION

Follow the steps here.

CAUSE 2

RESOLUTION ONE

1.  Install all windows updates and restart the machine.

2.  Uninstall and re-install the NovaPDF.  See Installing (or removing) the Statistica STATNOVAPDF driver manually

RESOLUTION TWO

If the above steps do not work:

1.  Uninstall Microsoft KB3170455 (if installed):

 a. Start | Control Panel | Programs and Features | View installed updates

 b. Right click on  "Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3170455)"  and click "Uninstall"

 c.  Restart the machine.

2.  Uninstall and re-install NovaPDF.  See Installing (or removing) the Statistica STATNOVAPDF driver manually
3.  Reboot the computer
4.  If the StatNovaPDF still does not appear, run the novapk installer again (See Installing (or removing) the Statistica STATNOVAPDF driver manually) WITHOUT uninstalling.
5.  Reboot again and the StatNovaPDF driver should appear under Devices and Printers.
