Description

When connecting to an Amazon Redshift database cluster v1.0.7152 or lower through TIBCO Spotfire connector in TIBCO Spotfire Analyst, stored procedures may fail to load.

Issue/Introduction

The stored procedure cannot be loaded through Redshift connector as Redshift cluster v1.0.7152 and lower only supports create scalar UDF while connectors only support create table UDF

Resolution

Custom user defined functions used in Redshift database are similar to stored procedures. But Redshift cluster v1.0.7152 and lower only supports "create scalar" user defined functions (UDF) while Amazon Redshift data connector in TIBCO Spotfire Analyst only supports "create table" user defined functions. Hence the stored procedures cannot be loaded through the Amazon Redshift data connector in TIBCO Spotfire Analyst when connected to Amazon Redshift Cluster v1.0.7152 and lower.

To use the stored procedures in the TIBCO Spotfire Amazon Redshift data connector, upgrade your Amazon Redshift Cluster to version 1.0.7562 or higher. See Amazon Redshift now supports stored procedures for more details.
