Description

To open the reports in TIBCO Spotfire Web Player, you can copy the "Web Client URL" from the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client. When you open the Web Client URL in a browser, the admin console login page appear prompting for authentication (if there is not an already authenticated session), and once authenticated, the analysis will open.

You may receive a 404 error if the case of the Web Client URL has been modified. When you access the Web Client URLs in a browser using VIEWANALYSIS or OPENANALYSIS in upper case as shown below, the Web Player URL does go to the authentication log on page, but instead of opening the analysis, a 404 error will appear after logging in. So the analysis will not be opened when you use uppercase for VIEWANALYSIS or OPENANALYSIS since the VIEWANALYSIS/OPENANALYSIS is given in upper case which is the name of a ".aspx" file.

Issue/Introduction

TIBCO Spotfire Web Player URL case sensitivity

Resolution

In order for the Web Client URL to work, ensure that the OpenAnalysis or ViewAnalysis have that exact case since those are case-sensitive. For example:
http://spotfiretest.com/spotfire/wp/OpenAnalysis?file=/myFolder/Introduction%20to%20Spotfire_URLTest
or
http://spotfiretest.com/spotfire/wp/ViewAnalysis?file=/myFolder/Introduction%20to%20Spotfire_URLTest

Other parts of the URL are not case-sensitive, like server name ("SPOTFIRETEST.COM") or analysis name ("INTRODUCTION TO SPOTFIRE_URLTEST") and can be entered in either upper or lower case:
http://SPOTFIRETEST.COM/spotfire/wp/ViewAnalysis?file=/myFolder/INTRODUCTION%20TO%20SPOTFIRE_URLTEST
