After connecting to Salesforce using the TIBCO Spotfire Connector for Salesforce via Add Data Tables > Salesforce.com and entering the credentials in the TIBCO Spotfire Installed Client or after entering credentials in the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player in an already published report, the Salesforce driver might crash which in turn causes Spotfire client to crash while loading Reports and Tables with a "TIBCO Spotfire has stopped working" popup as seen in the attached picture, without logging any error or exception in the client or ODBC debug logs.
This issue may occur if there are over 2000 reports in the connection and if the driver Salesforce ODBC 2.0.19 which is present in TIBCO Drivers 1.4 and TIBCO Drivers 1.5.
The ODBC debug logs mentioned can be enabled per the instructions in the Reference section.
Note: A similar crash might also happen when there are not enough permissions on Reports or Tables. In this case an error like 'sObject ' ' not supported' can be seen in ODBC debug logs. See
KB 000036082 for more details.
