Description
Many useful functions for variable calculation are embedded in Statistica when you need enter a function/formula for a new variable. This article introduces two Statistics functions used to calculate the maximum value from other variables based on different scenarios.
Issue/Introduction
The function to carry the maximum value of a single variable or multiple variables
Resolution
1. When creating a variable that carries the maximum value out of a sequence of nubmers in a single variable/column(vertical), use Statistics function "VARMAX"(available in version 12 and beyond).
2. When creating a variable that carries the maximum value out of a list of variables compared in each row(horizontal), use Statistics function "Statmax".
