Resolution:
DB2 Connect comes with JDBC and ODBC drivers for OS390/DB2. The only available commercial JDBC driver knows to communicate with OS390 when we started development. Presently we are working with Merant to certify their Sequelink 5.1. Once we successfully test the Merant’s drivers, we will package the drivers into our release and eliminate the need to install DB2 Connect. Of course, DB2 Connect includes other services that client may find it very productive e.g. command center, client configuration assistance, and command line processor. Another advantage of DB2 connect is its connectivity to other IBM’s OS platforms.
