Description

Resolution:
You install RTserver as a service from the Command Line by:
     1. rtserver -install [-demandstart | -autostart]
     2. net start rtserver

The Command "net start rtserver" will start RTserver as an NT service after the service has been installed.

By default, two RTservers cannot be run as services at the same time. This is because the service name that the RTserver uses to register itself is hardcoded. If you want to install the rtserver.exe as a service under two different names, then you will have to write a service installer program to do this.

To configure Windows service startup, Windows *requires* that you must be logged on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group. The Windows services that you register "Log In" using this account and will inherit all of the rights and priviledges associated with this account. (This is described under "Action -> Help" in the Windows Services window). You do not have to be an Administrator to use the RTserver as a Service.
