Description
Resolution: Two separate installations of TIBCO Administrator 5.1.2 are available
-TIBCO Administrator Enterprise Edition is the full functionality version of TIBCO Administrator.
-TIBCO Administrator Repository Edition is a subset of the Enterprise Edition and supplies repository management and user management functionality. You cannot use Repository Edition to deploy applications, manage and monitor those deployments, or manage and monitor a TIBCO administration domain. There is no resource management available for the Repository Edition.
You may install either version in one of two ways:
Disable User and Resource Management modules This results in a TIBCO Administration Server that allows server-based clients to access projects. The functionality is equivalent to earlier repository server functionality. This is currently the only way to work with a database backend.
Enable User and Resource Management modules (not available with a database backend): This results in a TIBCO Administration Server that manages a TIBCO administration domain. Inside the domain, the server allows privileged users to access projects. Authentication and Authorization are managed using the TIBCO Administrator GUI.
If you installed the Enterprise Edition, the TIBCO Administrator GUI also displays domain inventory information and allows you to set alerts on a per-machine basis. You can also perform a large number of administrative tasks, including: load Enterprise Archive files generate deployment configurations deploy applications start and stop applications monitor deployed applications
