Description

Resolution:
You can back up Manager configuration information to a separate disk or tape location.

First, you'll want to copy the WEB-INF/config directory hierarchy for configuration files. You don't need to stop the Manager to copy these files.

Then, for data in the McKoi database, you typically only want to copy the data from the internal database. To copy files in the database, you can use the McKoi backup facility to dump a database snapshot to a separate directory on the local disk, and then copy that directory off the local disk to the backup location.

For instance, by default the internal database is backed up to WEB-INF/db/internal/backup. Have your backup script copy the default database backup directory to a location of your choosing. Note that when you test the restore, you'll need to put the database back into the parent directory, WEB-INF/db/internal. Using this approach, you won't have to stop the Manager to back up the internal database.
