The Standards Release 2005 (SR 2005) has been available for testing since January 16th, 2005.
It went live during the week-end of 14-15 May 2005. All messages published on the
SWIFT network should now conform to the new Standards Release.

The first version of TIBCO Adapter for SWIFT that supports SR2005 is 5.2.0.
3- Will the TIBCO Adapter for SWIFT be Gold Certified in 2005 again?
TIBCO Adapter for SWIFT has been Gold Certified for many years and renewed the SWIFT gold certification in 2005 again.

4- What is the availability target for this 5.2.0 release (and SR2005 support)?
TIBCO Adapter for SWIFT 5.2.0 was released in March 2005.
5- Will the SWIFT AE schema field names change (as it did from 4.3 to 5.1)?
No. The SWIFT AE schema field names did not change.
However, the format of some messages changed, as mandated by SWIFT.
6- What SWIFT messages will change in the 2005 Message Standards?
Some of the messages that have gone through structural changes in SR2005 are:
MT307, MT308, MT321, MT380, MT500, MT501, MT502, MT503, MT504,
MT505, MT506, MT507, MT508, MT509, MT510, MT513, MT514, MT515,
MT517, MT518, MT519, MT524, MT527, MT528, MT529, MT535, MT536,
MT537, MT538, MT540, MT541, MT542, MT543, MT544, MT545, MT546,
MT547, MT548, MT558, MT564, MT565, MT566, MT567, MT568, MT569,
MT574IRSLST, MT574W8BENO, MT575, MT576, MT578, MT584, MT586,
MT587, MT588, MT589, MT760.
For an exhaustive list and details, please refer to Tip 1819300 in the online SWIFT Support knowledge base (requires login).
Please note that many other message types are affected by validation rules changes.
7- Do we need to upgrade the adapter even if the messages we use are not impacted by the change ?
Yes, it is necessary to upgrade to the adapter version certified for a given SWIFT message standard, and follow the SWIFT releases closely. Indeed, even if the specific messages you use might not have changed, a new message standard often contains global changes such as system messages, or network rules impacting multiple messages (such as pre-Euro currencies check).
Unfortunately we have no control over the frequency of these changes, dictated by the SWIFT community. But we are working towards making migration as smooth as possible for our customers and we welcome any suggestion you might have to this effect.
8- Will I have to recreate all my mappings when I migrate to the new message standard?!
No. Your mappings should remain intact after you load the new 2005 schemas - as long as the structure of the message you are mapping to or from has not changed. If the structure has changed, you might have to re-map certain fields. This operation cannot be automated as it requires a business analyst to define the mapping logic for these changed/new fields.
(the above applies to customers upgrading from 5.1.0 or 5.1.1 to 5.2.0. Customers upgrading from 4.x to 5.2.0 will be impacted by more fundamental schema changes requiring migration)
9- I am still using TIBCO Adapter for SWIFT 4.x - how do I upgrade to 5.2.0?
First, you will need to upgrade your infrastructure to AE 5.x and versions compatible with TIBCO Adapter for SWIFT 5.2.0 (see below).
Then the SWIFT project migration upgrade process can be broken down in 2 main steps:
migration from 4.x (SR2002) to 5.1.0 (SR2003).
Migration tools are provided to bring up your repository to AE 5.x.
migration from 5.1.0/5.1.1 (SR2003) to 5.2.0 (SR2005)
This migration is minimum and limited to the few changes introduced by SR2005. As previously mentioned, these changes cannot be automated and have to be reviewed by your business analysts.
We greatly encourage you to keep current with SWIFT Standards Releases and corresponding adapter releases. Running against a live network with non-current versions might lead to messages being refused by SWIFT.
10- What other TIBCO products is the TIBCO Adapter for SWIFT compatible with?
TIBCO Adapter for SWIFT is compatible with the AE 5.x suite: BW 5.1, IM 5.0 and TRA 5.1/5.2. Please check the TIBCO support guidelines for more details on each of these individual products.
