Resolution:
There is a JVM bug which may cause socketWrite0 Hot Spot crashes on Clients on SuSE 9.2 systems. This bug is documented at http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4630104.
To work around this issue, load libjsig.so before you run the Client by setting the LD_PRELOAD environment variable. For example, you can set LD_PRELOAD=/path/to/Client/jre/lib/i386/libjsig.so.
