Resolution:
The following error message may surface while attempting to configure XML Canon to use the LDAP credentials from MS Active Directory 2003 for authentication:
“An error [LDAP: error code 1 - 00000000: LdapErr: DSID-0C090627, comment: In order to perform this operation a successful bind must be completed on the connection., data 0, vece] occurred while trying to contact the LDAP server”
The error is known to occur when the “Suggest” button of the Configure>Policies>Authentication page is used to set the value for the “Organization root”. In order to resolve it, enter the value for the “Organization root” manually and continue with the setting using the following instructions:
1. Enter the “Organization root” value manually
2. Save all entries by pressing the “Update” button
3. Stop the XML Canon server
4. Re-start the server
5. Test by connecting to the server using LDAP id and password
