Why does Designer hang for a long time when select "Open Existing Project" or "Save Project" menu option?

Resolution:
This problem has been reported; most of the time this issue is not caused directly by designer itself. In some cases the problem can be resolved by reinstalling Designer or even TRA. There are some other reasons that may cause this problem, like some BW components that do not function normally and so forth. The problem can be resolved through making sure these components work properly.
We'd suggest to check the Designer log files for more information or error, if there is none, perhaps turn on debug via uncommented the below line in designer.tra:
application.args -d
