Resolution:
By default SmartSockest tries to use file-based GMD, if it is not able to open the file then fails over to using memory-based GMD.
Starting with SmartSockets 6.8.0 you can now define the ipc_gmd_type as "file" and if it is unable to access the file then it will throw an error rather than failing over to memory-based.
