Description
Resolution: Many customers are able to get their proprietary data into RTView through alternative means, such as the following:
1) Via XML: Users can easily write an adapter to convert their own data into the XML format that RTView supports. The XML tags are explained in detail in the User Guide documentation in Appendix D. The XML stream can be either a flat file (e.g, mydata.xml) or as a http url (e.g., http://www.sl.com/webapps/mydata.jsp).
2) Via SQL: Users can store the proprietary data into a database, from which RTView can make queries against. A SQL license is needed for this case.
If the two above approaches are not satisfactory, you will have to contact SL directly to discuss the custom API option since SL does not publish the API to customers. SL tends to work closely with the customers on developing the interface. This custom datasource API will allow the user to integrate directly to the source as well as create custom data attachment fields and dialogs. Accessing the custom data source will also require an additional license.
