Resolution:
The SQL trace file will be generated on the machine running Siebel Server. This error generally occurs if the path provide in the adapter configuration for Siebel trace does not exist on the Siebel server machine.
Make sure that the path set for "Trace File" under Run-time Connection tab exists on the Siebel Server machine.
