Description
Resolution: This is likely caused by hawk agent not being able to find vpd.properties.tibco.<machine_name>. Please check the following:
1. Is hawk agent started by the user that installs all Tibco products on the machine? All product informations are stored in the vpd file. When hawk agent is started, it will search for vpd.properties.tibco.<machine_name> in the home directory of the user who install Tibco products. 2. Check if vpd.properties.tibco.<machine_name> exists in the home directory of the user who install Tibco products. 3. Open vpd.properties.tibco.<machine_name> and see if there is name string for the component in it, i.e "bw". 4. Check if there is there is a file named .installregistrylck file under <tibco_home>. Delete the file if it is there and restart hawk agent. 5. Stop hawk agent, remove vpd.properties from the same directory as vpd.properties.tibco.<machine_name>. Restart hawk agent. Sometimes for unknown reason, vpd.properties could get corrupted.
If none of the above helps, set -tsm_traceLevel to -1 in hawkagent.cfg under <tra_home>/domain/<domain> to -1 and restart hawk agent. Check tsm.log under <tra_home>/domain/<domain>/logs for any information related to vpd.
If the installed software list can not be found in tsm.log, then vpd.properties could be corrupted. User can copy the file from a different machine where same version and type of Tibco components are installed. Or user can resintall Tibco products.
