Description:
If TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for Files (Unix/Win) (FA) is installed as NT service polling remote directories. In order to access remote directories, a user needs to logged on to access remote directories(file://server/shareName) using netuse command internally.

Issue/Introduction

Deployed TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for Files (Unix/Win) (FA) NT instance fails to access the remote processing directories since it requires a user to log-in before accessing them.

Resolution

When TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for Files (Unix/Win) (FA) instance is deployed in Administrator, a startup file (.cmd file) is created in folder (<TRA_HOME>/domain/<Domain_Name>/application), which contains the command to run the FA instance.

where as TRA-HOME= TIBCO Runtime Agent installation location on local drive

Do the following to connect/access FA instance to the remote directories:

  • Modify the startup file (.cmd file) to call any script/batch file.
  • The batch/script file should contain NET USE (Eg: net use L: \\DBGERWS5148\test /persistent:yes /user:y6f100 >) command to connect to remote directories.
  • Save the startup file (.cmd file) and run the FA instance in Administrator.

If you are redeploying the FA instance, then the startup file (.cmd file) will get refreshed/overwritten. You make a backup of the startup file (.cmd file) for manually copying back the original. However, to avoid manually modifying the startup file (.cmd file), use the Hawk script mechanism to modify the startup file (.cmd file) automatically.
