Resolution:
You will see this error if:

1).  You attempt to install a version of the product that is incompatible with your existing environment, i.e., a 64-bit version of the product on a 32-bit platform.

2). You attempt to install a version of the product while an existing version of the product is running on the host you are attempting to do the install.

The steps to reinstall/upgrade the EMS product are:

1. Stop the currently running EMS application(s).
2. Stop tibemsd and tibemsadmin.
3. Make a copy and save all existing .conf and .db files on the target environment.
4. Uninstall the current EMS product.
5. Install the desired EMS product.
6. Replace your .conf and .db files from step 3 to run the EMS server with same set of configuration files from the previous deployment.
