Title:
Several UNIX machines share a common disk. Would like to install TIBCO software just once on one of the machines and be able to use the software from all other machines. Additionally, want to add all machines to the same domain.

Resolution:
If you install on just one of the machines, you will need to ensure that there is a vpd.properties.tibco.<machine name> file for each of the other machines, in the home directory of the user that is going to run the software on each of the machines. You will need to create a softlink for each of the other machines to the original one. You should ensure that the mount path is the same on each of the machines.

If the machines are all to be part of the same domain, then you need to ensure that the DOMAIN HOME on each machine has a different path to the other machines or is stored on the local machine.  Otherwise you will not be able to add the additional machines to the domain. The option to alter this is one of the advanced options shown by selecting the “show advanced” box when ADDING a MACHINE to the domain or creating a new domain using DomainUtility.

NOTE: The recommended way of installation is using TIBCO Universal Installer to install all TIBCO product.
