Resolution:
This is due to an incompatibility between ehcache (part of EDI 5.3 installation) and the TRA. To workaround this issue either modify the bcappmanage.tra so that it doesn't have references to EDI paths or temporarily move the ehcache.jar away from '<TIB-HOME>/bc/5.2/protocols/edi/lib/'
