The TIBCO Runtime Agent (TRA) fails to install with the error:

TIBINS000601: Error:    INTERNAL ERROR: TIBCO Rendezvous 8.1.1 failed to install.
/opt/tibco/tibrv/8.1/bin/rvd does not exist.

When  trying to install just the Java Runtime Environment that is packaged with TRA (in order to use that to install the rest of the TRA package), an error is reported in the installation log file that bc is not installed. How can this be resolved?

Install the bc program. This may be found on the Linux installation media or alternatively downloaded from the site:

    http://directory.fsf.org/GNU/bc.html

TIBCO Rendezvous 8.1.1 fails to install when trying to install the TIBCO Runtime Agent.
