Description:
TIBCO Adapter for Siebel 5.3.1 now supports TRA 5.6.0, TRA5.6.1 and TRA5.6.2 in addition to the currently supported TRA and BusinessWorks versions listed in the product documentation. The only TRA features supported by the adapter are those included in the documentation for TIBCO Adapter for Siebel.
Configuration:
==========
No adapter configuration changes are required to use TRA 5.6.0 or TRA5.6.1 or TRA 5.6.2 with version 5.3.1 of the Siebel adapter.
Please note that JRE 1.6 is bundled with TRA 5.6.2. Please refer to the Migration and Compatibility section of the TIBCO Runtime Agent™ Release Notes Software Release 5.6.2 for details on using the TRA Upgrade Manager utility to upgrade to JRE 1.6.
Limitation and Restrictions:
===================
TIBCO Adapter for Siebel 5.3.1 supports TRA 5.6.0, TRA 5.6.1 and TRA 5.6.2 with JRE 1.5.0 and JRE 1.6.0(with Siebel 7.8.x and above only)
Please refer to the TRA 5.6 documentation for supported versions of TIBCO Administrator (see LBN1-9DNP7O).
64-bit TRA 5.6 is required when using the Siebel adapter on HP Itanium, because the adapter is a 64-bit application on HP Itanium.
On all others supported platforms(except 64 bit for Windows and Linux platforms), TIBCO Adapter for Siebel is supported with either 32-bit or 64-bit TRA packages.
In order to run the adapter with the 64-bit TRA package (which uses the 64-bit JVM), a workaround must be implemented. The workaround is described below, under Known Issues.
Known Issues (1): Designer throws Resource Skipped during Merge warning.
===============
Symptoms
========
On dragging and dropping Siebel Adapter Configuration palette in the Design panel, designer throws a warning Resource Skipped during Merge. This warning will also come when a project is re-opened.
Impact
======
Just a warning. The adapter functionality is not affected. The warning can be ignored.
Workaround
==========
None
Resolution
==========
This issue will be addressed in future HotFix / adapter release
Known Issues (2): Designer throws 'Subject Validation Error'
===============
Symptoms
========
When a project containing Siebel Adapter Instances is validated for Deployment, Designer throws subject validation errors for the default advisory endpoints that get created with subjects starting with _RV and _SDK.
Impact
======
Will not have any impact on the run-time Adapter. These errors can be ignored.
Workaround
==========
None
Resolution
==========
This issue will be addressed in a future HotFix / adapter release
Known Issues (3): Adapter does not start up if Request Response Services with JMS endpoints are configured.
===============
Symptoms
========
When the adapter is configured with Request Response Services with JMS endpoints, it does not create the stop subscriber(topic) and hangs without any errors.
This issue is seen only on Unix platforms.
Impact
======
Adapter functionality is affected as it does not start.
Workaround
==========
Use a lower version of TRA.
Resolution
==========
This issue is fixed in future HotFix 6 of 5.3.1 version of TIBCO Adapter for Siebel.
Known Issues (4): TIBCO Adapter for Siebel v5.3.1 fails to start with TRA 64-bit (except HP Itanium)
===============
Symptoms:
===========
After installing the 64-bit TIBCO Runtime Agent 5.6.0/5.6.1/5.6.2,
TIBCO Adapter for Siebel will not start up and gives the following error:
“Failed to load shared library, library name: /tibco/jre/1.5.0/bin/classic/libjvm”
Impact:
======
Loss of Functionality. Adapter does not start.
Cause:
======
The adapter to run with a 64-bit TRA would require 64-bit libraries.
Workaround:
==========
Follow these steps:
1. Remove the adapter executable (say ‘adsbl’) from TIBCO_HOME/adapter/adsbl/5.3/bin
2. Copy TIBCO_HOME/tra/5.6/bin/wrap64 to TIBCO_HOME/adapter/adsbl/5.3/bin, and rename wrap64 to adsbl
3. Open the TIBCO_HOME/adapter/adsbl/5.3/bin/adsbl.tra file and modify the tibco.env.CUSTOM_LIB_PATH variable to <RV_HOME>/lib/64.
