Resolution: If you need to physically move a manager from one machine to another, you will need to take a few things into account:
1. The new manager needs to have the same FQDN as the old one. 2. The directory structure of your manager needs to match exactly the old one, in other words, it needs to be at the exact same location in the file system.
Using a different IP address for the new manager works, but other components on the grid might have cached the old IP address of the manager. This means you might need to restart your Primary Director. If it is the Primary Director you are updating, you might need to restart all brokers attached to it. If you are unsure whether you need to restart or not, check whether your components are logging into your manager as expected.
