Resolution:
The 'vpd.properties.tibco.<servername>' file serves as the TIBCO Installer registry, keeping all TIBCO product installation information. This information is later used by TIBCO products to perform certain functions. Some components make a copy of it into 'vpd.properties' at certain time.
We have seen corruption issues related to the 'vpd.properties' and 'vpd.properties.tibco.<servername>' files. To avoid corruption Tibco Support recommends the following guidelines:
1). Stop all TIBCO processes before installing/uninstalling any TIBCO product.
2). Do not have multiple users using the same user account to install TIBCO product at the same time.
3). Make back-ups of the 'vpd.properties.tibco.<servername>' file periodically after an installation, so that the file can be restored if necessary.
