Description

Description:
Applying Solaris 10 kernel patch 137111 and recycling the server will cause TIBCO Object Service Broker for Open Systems to fail during initialization. Typical messages include:

S6BUS027E DATA OBJECT BROKER ABENDING, CHILD PROCESS STOPPED UNEXPECTEDLY
S6BUS023I HRNAPPL(0) STOPPED DUE TO SIGNAL SIGBUS
S6BUS001I HRNCKPT STOPPED DUE TO ERROR
S6BUS023I HRNREDO STOPPED DUE TO SIGNAL SIGKILL
  S6BUS028E DATA OBJECT BROKER ABENDING, FN=HCRABEND, SOURCE=HRNCR.C(768)

The failure is caused by mutex structures being allocated on a 4-byte boundary rather than the 8-byte boundary enforced by patch 137111. For a Sun description of the problem, see:
   http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-66-244606-1

Products Affected:
The following products running under Solaris 10 with kernel patch 137111 applied will be affected:
TIBCO Object Service Broker for Open Systems-5.0.0
   TIBCO ObjectStar for Open Systems-4.1.1
   TIBCO ObjectStar Integration Foundation Developers-4.1.0
TIBCO ObjectStar Integration Foundation for Solaris-4.0.2

Temporary Workaround:
Customers are advised not to apply Solaris 10 kernel patch 137111 until they have applied the correcting TIBCO Hotfix maintenance. For customers that have applied Solaris 10 kernel patch 137111, then the temporary operating system patch KU 137137-09 provides a temporary operating system workaround and should be applied.

Final Fix:
TIBCO will release Hotfixes addressing this issue in the near future. Customers should open a service request for their product and request tracking of CR 1-9UA5LB. The resulting fix will be delivered as a TIBCO Hotfix. Customers may also register for automatic notification via Late Breaking News (LBNs) of Hotfix availability.
