Description
Why do I get the following error when I tried to start rvrd:
==================== Configuration error. For service '7405', our name for the local network is 'x.190-PROD', while another RV Routing Daemon at w.x.y.z claims that, for service '7405', the local network name is 'y.12-PROD'. Both daemons MUST use the same local network name for a given service. ====================
Resolution: This means that there is another RVRD in the same subnet (running on host with IP address w.x.y.z) whose local network name is "y.12-PROD" for service 7405, whereas the rvrd is trying to define a different local network name "x.190-PROD" for the same service (i.e. 7405). This is a configuration error because both RVRDs must use the same local network name for a given service.
If you are defining FT with two RVRDs, the router names must be distinct, the local network configurations must be identical while the load balancing parameters along neighbor links may differ. If you are not starting RVRD for FT, you need to use another service port to avoid this error.
If you have two network interfaces on the host, one of which belongs to the already running RVRD and the other belongs to another subnet, you need to either use another service port (in non-FT situation) or disable the first network interface (if you cannot use another service).
